Andi Muhammad Irawan, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D

Andi Muhammad Irawan, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D. Andi Muhammad Irawan received his PhD in Critical Discourse Analysis from the University of New England, Australia in 2017 and is currently a lecturer in English Department at Universitas Negeri Padang, Indonesia. Previously, he was a lecturer in English Literature at the Islamic University of Makassar (2009-2020). He completed his bachelor degree in English Literature at Universitas Negeri Makassar in 2007 and master degree in Linguistic and Humanity Studies at Hasanuddin University of Makassar in 2010. Irawan is the author of a book entitled Minority against Discrimination: The Study of Resistance Discourses in Critical Discourse Analysis (co-authored with Prof. Dr. A. Qashas Rahman, M.Hum) and he has published some articles in peer-reviewed international journals such as in Discourse & Society, Australian Folklore and in SIELE (Studies in English Language and Education). He has also attended international conferences presenting his papers in Australia, the Philippines and Indonesia. Irawan is particularly interested in research topics related to (Critical) Discourse Analysis, Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, Religious Minority Studies, Discourse of Indonesian Islam, and Racial and Ethnic Discrimination.
