Visions of Department of English Language and Literature
In 2020 the Department of Language and English Literature FBS Universitas Negeri Padang become the leading and outstanding department in Indonesia in preparing professional educators in English Language Teaching and Japanese Language Teaching as well as professional non-educational workers in English Language and Literature, devotion to God, independent, and possessing the knowledge of ICT for the interests and glory of the nation.
Missions of Department of English Language and Literature
- Conducting a quality of learning process to produce professional educators in English Language Teaching, Japanese Language Teaching, as well as professional non-educational workers in English Language and Literature, devotion to God independent, and possessing the knowledge of ICT for the interests and glory of the nation.
- Conducting research activities on education and non-education in the field of English language and literature and Japanese language that can be applied in the effort to improve the English language learning, Japanese and English literature and culture.
- Providing services, community services, users in the development and utilization of science. Establishing wider network with relevant institutions both at local and international.
- Conducting scientific activities among lecturers and students in the form of seminars, workshops, and training in the field of English language teaching and Japanese language teaching as well as professional non-educational workers in English Language and Literature
- Using knowledge and technology that are related to learning as well as non English language learning and English Literature as well as Japanese language.
Aims of Department of English Language and Literature
- Preparing educators and professional workers in the field of English Language and Literature and Japanese Language teaching who have nationalism, adaptive to the development of science, technology and culture.
- Preparing educators and professional workers who have knowledge and skills that are appropriated with the needs so that they are accepted in the business world and industry.
- Developing research in the field of English language teaching and Japanese language teaching.
- Developing research in linguistics and literature and arts.
- Conducting community service in the field of English language teaching, Japanese language teaching as well as English Language and Literature.
